Is there too much traffic?
Finding it hard to fit a trip to a therapist into your schedule?
Online Counseling helps. Allowing you to achieve timely and effective results from the comfort of your own home.
Online Counseling or Telehealth services are ideal for those who need flexibility in their therapy setting. The ability to meet with your therapist via video without having to leave your home or office can open almost endless possibilities. This makes it easier to fit sessions into your busy schedule. You may travel for work, be unable to leave the children, be injured or unable to drive, hate traffic (this is me), can’t get out of the office, or just don’t want to go to another office visit. Telehealth is available to accommodate your lifestyle to promote greater flexibility in scheduling your appointments and are able to receive timely and effective results despite the demands of life. Ideally through the therapeutic process you will obtain skills to increase management of and perhaps minimize some of these environmental necessities, even if that is not your primary concern (BONUS). Online sessions are offered on a weekly basis or as a convenient option when your schedule interferes with your office visit.
What can I address in Online Counseling?
Simply said: Everything you can accomplish in the therapist’s office. Online counseling may be referred to as Telehealth, Telemedicine, or Distance counseling. All are different terms to described the process of receiving professional guidance for emotional or concerns through a virtual medium online. Online therapy has been shown to have the same effectiveness as in person therapy. I have received specific training in Telehealth services to ensure that you receive the same standard of care.
Virtual sessions may be used to discuss stress management, burnout, goal setting, action planning, family problems, anxiety, depression, overall wellness and more. Online sessions are offered on a weekly basis or as a convenient option when your schedule interferes with your office visit.
Although online therapy strategies are evidenced to be as effective as traditional therapies, there remain some clinical situations that are most appropriately treated in person. Upon initial evaluation I will provide a recommendation for face to face counseling as appropriate.
From a clinical perspective: Online therapy options squash your ability for excuses. I am accessible and you can reach me from home or office. I’ve even had a client complete a session in her car after leaving the gym. Now how’s that for convenience.
